SSM caches invalid permissions when VEMKD is not responsive. When VEMKD is responsive again, SSM will use the cached permissions. This interim fix provides a resolution for this issue.

Installation

a.      Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and disable all applications:

> soamcontrol app disable all

b.      Log on to each management host in the cluster and back up the following file, which will be replaced by this interim fix:

$EGO_TOP/soam/7.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/etc/ssm

c.      On each management host, decompress the sym7.1_lnx26-lib23-x64_build463141.tar.gz package:

> tar zxfo sym7.1_lnx26-lib23-x64_build463141.tar.gz -C $EGO_TOP

d.      Run the following command to verify the installation.

> ssm -V

e.      Enable your applications:

> soamcontrol app enable <appName>

Uninstallation (if required)

a.      Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and disable all applications:

> soamcontrol app disable all

b.      Log on to each management host in the cluster and restore the following file from your backup:

$EGO_TOP/soam/7.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/etc/ssm

c.      Enable your applications:

> soamcontrol app enable <appName>
