After a client is reclaimed slots on one host, and does not receive a reclaim notification from VEMKD, if the host becomes unavailable and is then removed from cluster, this causes the slot count for the allocation to be inconsistent. Under this condition, if the client reconnects again, and VEMKD crashes. This interim fix addresses this scenario so that VEMKD works appropriately.

System requirements

Linux x86_64

Before installation

a.         Disable your applications, stop your services, and shut down the cluster:

> soamcontrol app disable all

> egosh service stop all

> egosh ego shutdown all

b.         Log on to each management host in the cluster and back up the following file, which will be replaced by this interim fix:

$EGO_TOP/3.3/linux-x86_64/etc/vemkd

Installation

Log on to each management host in the cluster and install this interim fix:

> tar zxfo pssasetup2015_linux-x86_64_build462466.tar.gz -C $EGO_TOP

After installation

Start the cluster and enable your applications:

> egosh ego start all

> soamcontrol app enable <appName>

Uninstallation

a.         Disable your applications, stop your services, and shut down the cluster:

> soamcontrol app disable all

> egosh service stop all

> egosh ego shutdown all

b.         Log on to each management host in the cluster and restore the following file from your backup:

$EGO_TOP/3.3/linux-x86_64/etc/vemkd

c.         Start the cluster and enable your applications:

> egosh ego start all

> soamcontrol app enable <appName>
