Installation
1. Disable your applications:
>
soamcontrol app disable all
2. Log on to each compute host in the cluster, copy the
sym-7.1.2.0-soamcore-7.1.2.0_build451055.msp package, and complete one of the following steps:

For an interactive installation,
double-click the .msp package.
·
For a silent installation, enter
the following command from the command line:
C:\>msiexec
/update <Sym_package_name_path>
/l*v <Sym_install_log>
/norestart /quiet REINSTALLMODE=omus
where:
o
<Sym_package_name_path> is the fully qualified file name to
the .msp package.
o
<Sym_install_log> is the log file for the IBM
Spectrum Symphony upgrade.
For example:
C:\>msiexec
/update C:\sym-7.1.2.0-soamcore-7.1.2.0_build451055.msp /l*v updateSym.log
/norestart /quiet REINSTALLMODE=omus
3. Run the “pversions” command to verify the installation.
For example:
> pversions

Uninstallation
1. Disable your applications:
>
soamcontrol app disable all
2. Roll back to the
previous version of IBM Spectrum Symphony either from the Windows Control Panel
or from the IBM Spectrum Symphony command line:
·
To roll back from the Windows
Control Panel, click Control Panel > Programs and Features > View
installed updates.
·
To roll back from the Symphony
command line, complete these steps:
a.
Get the package for this interim
fix (sym-7.1.2.0-soamcore-7.1.2.0_build451055.msp).
b.
Extract the soamcore-7.1.2.0.msi files from your original IBM
Spectrum Symphony 7.1.2 package:
C:\>sym-7.1.2.0.exe --extract <directory_to_extract_to>
c.
Enter the following command to roll
back the interim fix:
C:\>msiexec /uninstall <Sym_package_name_path> /package <Sym_package_msi_path> /norestart /quiet /l*v <Sym_rollback_log>
where:
o <Sym_package_name_path> is the fully qualified file name of the .msp interim fix
package.
o <Sym_package_msi_path> is the fully qualified file name of the soamcore .msi file
that you extracted in step b.
o <Sym_rollback_log> is the name of the log file to capture details of the IBM
Spectrum Symphony rollback.
For example:
C:\>msiexec
/uninstall C:\sym-7.1.2.0-soamcore-7.1.2.0_build451055.msp /package C:\soamcore-7.1.2.0.msi
/norestart /quiet /l*v rollbackSym.log
3. Enable your applications:
> soamcontrol app
enable <appName>
