IBM Platform LSF 9.1.3 Fix 442551 Readme File

Abstract

P100979. Fix to prevent the host-level and queue-level utilization setting from being rounded.

Description

Readme documentation for IBM Platform LSF 9.1.3 Fix 442551 including installation-related instructions, prerequisites and co-requisites, and list of fixes.

This fix addresses the following issue:

When setting up utilization (ut) at the host level or queue level to schedule enough CPU resources for jobs, the ut value is rounded to the nearest value. For example, ut = 0.92  is 12 cores in a cluster and ut = 0.94 is 16 cores.

When setting ut = 0.92 or 0.94 in lsb.hosts, bhosts -l reports ut  = 0.9.
When setting ut = 0.96 in lsb.hosts, bhosts -l reports ut = 1.

When setting ut = 0.92 or 0.94 in lsb.queues, bqueues -l reports ut = 0.9.
When setting ut = 0.96 in lsb.queues, bqueues -l reports ut = 1.

LSF should not round ut numbers, because this results in resources being used incorrectly.
