4. Installation and configuration
4.1 Before installation
1. Disable all applications and shutdown cluster.
> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin
> soamcontrol app disable all
> egosh service stop all
> egosh ego shutdown all
2. Back up files.
Log on to all management hosts in the cluster and back up the following file that will be replaced by this fix:
$EGO_SERVERDIR/egosc
$EGO_SERVERDIR/vemkd
4.2 Installation steps
Log on to all management hosts in the
cluster and decompress the tar.gz file under the $EGO_TOP directory:
> tar zxfo
sym7.1_lnx26-lib23-x64_build436027.tar.gz -C $EGO_TOP
4.3 After installation
1. Verify the installation.
The following is an example
of verifying the installing by running vemkd
¨CV and egosc -V:
> vemkd -V

2. Start cluster and enable the application.
> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin
> egosh ego start all
> soamcontrol app enable <appName>
4.4 Uninstallation
1. Disable all applications and shutdown
cluster.
> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin
> soamcontrol app disable all
> egosh service stop all
> egosh ego shutdown all
2. Uninstall.
Log on to all management hosts in cluster and restore the backup file for the following binary:
$EGO_SERVERDIR/vemkd
3. Start cluster and enable the
application.
> egosh user logon ¨Cu Admin ¨Cx Admin
> egosh ego start all
>
soamcontrol app enable <appName>
