The client core dumps using the log4cxx framework when running a parent-child client.

Description

During client initialization, the system core dumps while using the log4cxx framework.

5. Installation and configuration

5.1 Before installation

1. Shut down the cluster

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

 > source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform

 > soamcontrol app disable all

 > egosh service stop all

 > egosh ego shutdown all

2. Back up the following files on all hosts

Log on to management and compute hosts in the cluster, and back up the following files, which will be replaced by this fix:

> $EGO_TOP/1.2.8/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

> $EGO_TOP/soam/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib64/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

> $EGO_TOP/soam/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

Log on to client hosts in the cluster, and back up the following files, which will be replaced by this fix:

> $SOAM_HOME/lib64/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

> $SOAM_HOME/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

Log on to Platform Symphony Developer Edition hosts, and back up the following files, which will be replaced by this fix:

> $SOAM_HOME/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib64/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

> $SOAM_HOME/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

5.2 Installation steps

1. Log on to management and compute hosts in the cluster, and decompress the tar.gz file to your Platform Symphony installation directory.

> tar zxfo sym6.1.1_lnx26-lib23-x64_build429028.tar.gz -C $EGO_TOP

2. Log on to the client hosts, decompress the tar.gz file to a local directory, and replace the old libraries with the decompressed ones.

> cp soam/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib64/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9 $SOAM_HOME/lib64/

> cp soam/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9 $SOAM_HOME/lib/

3. Log on to Platform Symphony Developer Edition hosts, decompress the tar.gz file to a local directory, and replace the old libraries with the decompressed ones.

> cp soam/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib64/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9 $SOAM_HOME/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib64/

> cp soam/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9 $SOAM_HOME/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib/

5.3 After installation

1. Start the cluster

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

 > source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform

 > egosh ego start all

 > soamcontrol app enable AppName

5.4 Uninstalling

1. Stop the cluster

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

 > source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform

 > soamcontrol app disable all

 > egosh service stop all

 > egosh ego shutdown all

2. Restore the backup file.

Log on to management and compute hosts in the cluster, and restore the backed up files:

 > $EGO_TOP/1.2.8/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

 > $EGO_TOP/soam/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib64/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

 > $EGO_TOP/soam/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

Log on to client hosts in the cluster, and restore the backed up files:

 > $SOAM_HOME/lib64/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

 > $SOAM_HOME/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

Log on to the Platform Symphony Developer Edition hosts, and restore the backed up files:

> $SOAM_HOME/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib64/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

> $SOAM_HOME/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/lib/libcom_platform_log4cxx_097_3.so.9

3. Start the cluster

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

> source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform

> egosh ego start all

> soamcontrol app enable AppName
