Installation information

Installing an IBM Parallel Performance Toolkit update for Linux
1. Download the IBM Parallel Performance Toolkit update package into any directory on your system.
2. Unzip and extract the .rpm image(s) from the *.tar.gz file.
3. Install the IBM Parallel Performance Toolkit updates on your system using the rpm -i command.
For further installation documentation, refer to the Installing the IBM Parallel Performance Toolkit on Linux Systems section of the Installation and Use Guide for IBM Parallel Performance Toolkit Version 2 Release 3.

The following fixes apply to IBM Parellel Performance Toolkit.

IBM Parallel Performance Toolkit 2.3.0-1 [Dec 9, 2016]

IBM Parallel Performance Toolkit:
1. hpctView no longer hangs when adding HPM, GPM or OpenMP trace to existing trace view
2. Instrumentation point labels in performance data (.viz) files now contain only valid displayable characters.
3. HPM, GPM and OpenMP trace files are properly merged when adding a trace to an existing trace view, and no trace events are dropped.
4. OpenMP trace is generated by OpenMP trace preload library even if the .psigma/.psigma.*.ias file is missing.
5. Error messages indicating out of order timestamps in a HPM trace for a threaded application no longer occur.
6. OpenMP applications can be instrumented for OpenMP profiling and tracing using hpctView.
7. Summation table in hpctView Performance Data view properly sums per-instrumentat ion point data for threaded applications.
8. Required OpenMP profiling and tracing library is automatically set up by hpctView.
9. Data for all executed instrumentation points displayed in Performance Data view even if only a subset of appllication tasks executes an instrumentation point.
