Abstract
PMC does not show application information, and
prompts the error message: "The connection to the Session Director is
down. Try again in a few moments."
Description
This fix resolves the PMC issue and enables PMC to show
application information.
This
interim fix applies only to the following platforms:

this fix.
5. Installation and configuration
5.1 Before installation
Stop the WEBGUI
service
Log on to
the master host as the cluster administrator and run:
> egosh service stop WEBGUI
5.2 Installation steps
Download and install the soam6.1.0_win-x64_build417756.msp package on
your Platform Symphony host.
Interactive installation:
Log in as the local administrator and double-click the Platform Symphony MSP package to run the Platform Symphony installer.
Silent installation:
1. Log in to all management hosts as the local administrator.
If you are logged in as a domain user in
the Administrator group, then run Command
Prompt as an administrator (for example, from the Start menu, right-click Command
Prompt and select Run as administrator).
2. Run the Platform Symphony
installer from the command line using the following command:
> msiexec /update <Symphony_package_name_path> /l*v <Symphony_install_log> /norestart /quiet REINSTALLMODE=omus
Where:
1) Symphony_package_name_path is the fully qualified file name of the Platform Symphony MSP package in this release.
2) Symphony_install_log is the log file for the Platform Symphony upgrade.
> msiexec /update
C:\soam6.1.0_win-x64_build417756.msp /l*v
updateSym.log /norestart /quiet REINSTALLMODE=omus
5.3 After installation
1. Verify the installation using the pversions command on Windows.
The following output is an example of successfully running the
verification command on management host:
> pversions
Platform EGO 1.2.7.0
IBM Platform Symphony 6.1.0.1
Update for Symphony 6.1.0.1 (build"417756")

2. Clean up the GUI work directories and the browser cache. Delete all
subdirectories and files in following directories:
%SOAM_HOME%\..\gui\work\*
3. Start the WEBGUI service.
Log on to the master
host as the cluster administrator and run:
> egosh service start WEBGUI
5.4 Uninstallation
1. Stop the WEBGUI service.
Log
on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:
> egosh service stop WEBGUI
2. Roll back your changes.
Important:
You cannot use the Microsoft Windows "Add/Remove Programs" feature to roll back to a previous Platform Symphony package on a management or compute host.
a.) Get the Platform Symphony package for Platform Symphony 6.1.0.1 (for example, soam6.1.0_win-x64.msi in this case).
b.) Use the following command to roll back Platform Symphony:
On a
Windows management host, run:
> msiexec
/uninstall C:\soam6.1.0_win-x64_build417756.msp /package
C:\soam6.1.0_win-x64.msi /norestart /quiet /l*v rollbackSym.log
3. Start the WEBGUI service.
Log on to the master
host as the cluster administrator and run:
> egosh service start WEBGUI
