Abstract

The Platform Symphony 6.1.1 client installation does not include the Kerberos plug-in.

Description

The Platform Symphony 6.1.1 client installation package does not install the Kerberos plug-in library file (sec_ego_kerberos.so) under the lib64 directory. Apply this fix to copy the file into the lib64 directory.

This fix applies only to the following platform:  

linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64

4.   Installation and configuration

4.1 Installation steps

Decompress the tar.gz file into the $SOAM_HOME directory on Linux client hosts:

> tar zxfo symclnt6.1.1_lnx26-lib23-x64_build413872.tar.gz -C $SOAM_HOME

4.2 After installation

Verify the installation. The following is an example of a successful installation:

ll $SOAM_HOME/lib64/sec_ego_kerberos.so

-rw-r--r-- 1 engbuild lsf 1854052 Jul 12 05:07 sec_ego_kerberos.so

 

4.3 Configuration

1. Edit the sec_ego_kerberos.conf file located in the $SOAM_HOME/conf directory on the client host.

 

For example:

 

REALM=EXAMPLE.COM

PRINCIPALNAME=testuser/iMapReduce

KEYTAB=/ibm/platformsymphonyclient/client611/conf/abcuser.keytab

KINITDIR=/usr/local/bin

 

        2. Edit the ego.conf file located in the $SOAM_HOME/conf directory on the client host.

 

For example:

 

EGO_SEC_PLUGIN=sec_ego_kerberos

EGO_SEC_CONF=/opt/ibm/platformsymphony/kernel/conf/

 

4.4 Uninstallation

Remove the Kerberos plug-in file on all Linux client hosts and restore configurations:

> rm -f $SOAM_HOME/lib64/sec_ego_kerberos.so

5.   List of files

symclnt6.1.1_lnx26-lib23-x64_build413872.tar.gz, which includes the file lib64/sec_ego_kerberos.so
