The repository
server (RS) service takes a long time to start up when the grid synchronization
feature is enabled.
The RS service takes a long time to start up when grid synchronization
feature is enabled because
the service cannot retrieve the $EGO_CONFDIR/hosts file to resolve host names.
This fix applies
to Linux x86_64 platform.

1.Stop the RS service
Log on
to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:
> source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform
> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin
> egosh service stop RS
2.Back up files
Back up the following files on all hosts:
> $EGO_TOP/3.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/etc/rs
1.Log on to all hosts in the cluster and
decompress the sym7.1_lnx26-lib23-x64_build410636.tar.gz package:
> tar zxfo sym7.1_lnx26-lib23-x64_build410636.tar.gz -C $EGO_TOP
1.Verify the installation
Run:
> rs -V
The following is an example output of
successfully running the command:
Platform EGO 3.1.0.0 build 410636, Jun 20 2016

2.Start the RS service
Log on to the master host as the cluster
administrator and run:

> source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform
> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin
> egosh service stop RS
2.Log on to all hosts in the cluster and
restore the backup file for the following binary:
> $EGO_TOP/3.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/etc/rs
3.Start the RS service
Log on to the master host as the cluster
administrator and run:
> source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform
> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin
> egosh service start RS
rs
