IBM Platform LSF 9.1.1 Fix 407879 Readme File

Abstract

P101729. Introduction of a non-blocking sbatchd call to pim for job resource usage information and reduction in the frequency of pim reading large smaps file for long running jobs.

Description

Readme documentation for IBM Platform LSF 9.1.1 Fix 407879 including installation-related instructions, prerequisites and co-requisites, and list of fixes.

Part 1:
Introduction of a new parameter LSF_PIM_CALL_NONBLOCK to lsf.conf. This parameter will control the option for sbatchd to call pim using a non-blocking mode to avoid sbatchd spending too much time waiting for a pim reply.
LSF_PIM_CALL_NONBLOCK=Y|y|N|n

Part 2:

It takes a very long time for pim to parse very large smaps files to get process shared memory information. This fix limits the frequency of pim reading large smaps files (files that take longer than 30 seconds to parse), to no shorter than 1% of the job CPUtime between two readings.
