applying this fix.
5. Installation and configuration
5.1 Before installation
1. Disable the application.
Log on to
the master host as the cluster administrator and run:
C:\>egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin
C:\>soamcontrol app disable all
5.2 Installation steps
Download and install the soam7.1_win-x64_build401818.msp package on
the Platform Symphony compute hosts.
1. Interactive installation:
Double-click the Platform Symphony MSP package to run the Platform Symphony installer.
2. Silent
installation:
Run the Platform Symphony installer from
the command line using the following command:
C:\>msiexec /update <Symphony_package_name_path> /l*v <symphony_install_log> /norestart /quiet REINSTALLMODE=omus
Where:
1) Symphony_package_name_path is the fully qualified file name of the Platform Symphony MSP package in this release.
2) symphony_install_log is the log file for the Platform Symphony upgrade.
For example, to install this fix on a Windows compute host, run:
C:\>msiexec /update C:\soam7.1_win-x64_build401818.msp
/l*v updateSym.log /norestart /quiet REINSTALLMODE=omus
5.3 After installation
1. Verify the installation
The following output is an example of successfully running the
verification command on compute host:

2. Enable the application.
Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:
C:\> soamcontrol app enable
<appName>
5.4 Uninstallation
1. Disable the application.
Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:
C:\>soamcontrol app disable all
2. Restore the backup files.
Important:
You cannot use the Microsoft Windows "Add/Remove Programs" feature to roll back to a previous Platform Symphony package on a management or compute host.
a.) Get the Platform Symphony package for Platform Symphony 7.1.0 (for example, soam7.1_win-x64.msi in this case).
b.) Use the following command to roll back Platform Symphony:
C:\>msiexec /uninstall <Sym_SP_path> /package <Sym_7.1.0_path> /norestart /quiet /l*v <sym_rollback_log>
Where:
1) Sym_SP_path is the fully qualified filename of the Platform Symphony MSP package in this release.
2)
Sym_7.1.0_path is the fully qualified filename of the Platform Symphony 7.1.0
MSI package.
3)
sym_rollback_log is the log file for the Platform Symphony rollback.
For example, to roll back
Platform Symphony on a Windows compute host, run:
C:\>msiexec
/uninstall C:\soam7.1_win-x64_build401818.msp /package C:\ soam7.1_win-x64.msi /norestart /quiet /l*v rollbackSym.log
3. Enable
the application.
Log
on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:
C:\> soamcontrol app enable
<appName>
