IBM Platform Symphony 7.1 Interim Fix 403839 Readme File

Abstract

A user without the EGO_CONSUMER_CONTROL and EGO_CONSUMER_MODIFY permissions cannot see the global actions list on the Application Profile page within the Platform Management Console.

Description

If a user without EGO_CONSUMER_CONTROL and EGO_CONSUMER_MODIFY permissions logs on to the Platform Management Console, and accesses Workload >Symphony >Application Profiles, the user cannot see the Global Actions list.

After applying this fix, all users can see the Global Actions list.

This fix applies only to the following platform:

linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64

4.   Installation and configuration

4.1          Before installation 

1.     Stop WEBGUI service:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> egosh service stop WEBGUI

2.     Back up the following file:

> $EGO_CONFDIR/../../gui/conf/useracl/permission_GUIPermissionSoam.acl

4.2          Installation steps 

1. Decompress the sym7.1_lnx26-lib23-x64_build403839.tar.gz package.

2. Copy the permission_GUIPermissionSoam.acl file to the following directory on the management hosts:

  > cp permission_GUIPermissionSoam.acl $EGO_CONFDIR/../../gui/conf/useracl/

 4.3          After installation 

1. Clean up the GUI work directories and the browser cache. Delete all subdirectories and files in following directories:

> rm -rf $EGO_TOP/gui/work/*

2. Start the WEBGUI service:

  > egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> egosh service start WEBGUI

4.4          Uninstallation 

1.   Stop the WEBGUI service:

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> egosh service stop WEBGUI

2.    Restore the following file on all management hosts with the backed-up file:

> $EGO_CONFDIR/../../gui/conf/useracl/permission_GUIPermissionSoam.acl

3.    Clean up the GUI work directories and the browser cache. Delete all subdirectories and files in following directories:

> rm -rf $EGO_TOP/gui/work/*

4.    Start the WEBGUI service:

> egosh service start WEBGUI
