IBM Platform Symphony 6.1.1 Interim Fix 391222 Readme File

Abstract

When the customer tries to load the Symphony Sparc Solaris library, there is a "symbol not found: main" error.

Description

In the customer environment, they build libPlatformSymphonyGrid.so. This library implements a generic API that interfaces with the Symphony Grid (or API). 

The Symphony Client code dynamically loads this library and encounters the "symbol not found: main" error.

This interim fix applies only to the following platform:

Sparc Solaris10 32bit gcc3.4.3

4.    Installation and configuration

4.1 Before installation

               1. Back up the affected files.

                      Log on to Sparc Solaris SDK hosts in the cluster and back up the following directories:

                      $SOAM_HOME/ 6.1.1/sparc-sol10-32-gcc3.4.3/ego_lib/

$SOAM_HOME/ 6.1.1/sparc-sol10-32-gcc3.4.3/lib/

Log on to Sparc Solaris Client hosts in the cluster and back up the following directory:

$SOAM_HOME/client611/lib/

4.2 Installation steps                 

                     Log on to Sparc Solaris SDK hosts in the cluster and replace the old files with the downloaded one:

                      tar zxvf symSDK-spc-sol10-32-gcc343-6.1.1_build391222.tar.gz -C $SOAM_HOME

 Log on to Sparc Solaris Client hosts in the cluster and replace the old files with the downloaded one:

                     tar zxvf symclnt-spc-sol10-32-gcc343-6.1.1_build391222.tar.gz -C $SOAM_HOME

4.3 After installation

               1. Verification.

Use the md5sum command to check md5 with the checksum.md5 files.

4.4 Uninstallation

1. Restore the backup file.

Log on to Sparc Solaris SDK hosts and restore the backed up directories:

$SOAM_HOME/ 6.1.1/sparc-sol10-32-gcc3.4.3/ego_lib/

$SOAM_HOME/ 6.1.1/sparc-sol10-32-gcc3.4.3/lib/

Log on to Sparc Solaris Client hosts and restore the backed up directory:

$SOAM_HOME/client611/lib/
