Abstract

When the data purger uses an Oracle database to clean up Platform Enterprise Reporting Framework (PERF) data, the data purger throws an exception, which causes the purger to not function. 

Description

When the data purger uses an Oracle database to clean up PERF data, the purger throws an exception, which causes the data purger to not function.

 

After applying this fix, the data purger can successfully clean up Oracle data.

Apply this fix if you have Platform Symphony 7.1 Fix Pack 1 installed.

 

5.   Installation and configuration

5.1         Before installation

                  1. Stop the plc and purger services

                  Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

> source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform

> egosh service stop plc purger

                  2.  Back up the following file on all management hosts

>$EGO_TOP/perf/3.1/lib/perf_purger.jar

         Note: Do not store the backed up perf_purger.jar file in the $PERF_TOP/perf/3.1/lib/ folder, even if you rename it. You can place this backup file in the $PERF_TOP/perf/3.1/ folder.

5.2       Installation steps

             Log on to all management hosts in the cluster and replace the perf_purger.jar binary with the downloaded one:

>$EGO_TOP/perf/3.1/lib/perf_purger.jar

5.3       After installation

1.     Clean up the perf work directory.

                           > rm -rf $EGO_TOP/perf/logs/*  $EGO_TOP/perf/work/*

2.     Start the plc and purger services

                   Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

> source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform

> egosh service start plc purger

5.4         Uninstalling

                  1.     Stop the plc and purger services

                  Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

> source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform

> egosh service stop plc purger

2.    Log on to all management hosts in the cluster and restore the backup file for the perf_purger.jar binary

>$EGO_TOP/perf/3.1/lib/perf_purger.jar

3.    Clean up the perf work directory

                            > rm -rf $EGO_TOP/perf/logs/*  $EGO_TOP/perf/work/*

4.     Start the plc and purger services

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

> source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform

> egosh service start plc purger
