Abstract

When the WEBGUI service's memory usage exceeds the value indicated in the MEM_HIGH_MARK setting within the wsm.conf file, WSM (web server manager) will restart the WEBGUI service and fail to register the client.

Description

When the WEBGUI service's memory usage exceeds the value indicated in the MEM_HIGH_MARK setting within the wsm.conf file, WSM will restart the WEBGUI service and fail to register the client.

After applying this fix, WSM can register the client successfully.

This fix applies only to the following platform:

linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64

4.1 Before installation

1. Stop the WEBGUI service.

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> egosh service stop WEBGUI

2. Back up file the following file:

> $EGO_TOP/gui/3.1/etc/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/wsm

4.2        Installation steps

1. Decompress the sym7.1.0_381745_lnx26-lib23-x64.tar.gz package.

2. Copy the file to the following directory on the management hosts:

> tar zxfo sym7.1.0_381745_lnx26-lib23-x64.tar.gz -C $EGO_TOP

4.3 After installation

1.Verify the installation

Run:

$EGO_TOP/gui/3.1/etc/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/wsm -V

The following is an example output of successfully running the "wsm -V" command:

2. Clean up the GUI work directory and the browser cache. Delete all subdirectories and files in this directory:

> rm -rf $EGO_TOP/gui/work/*

3. Start the WEBGUI service.

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> egosh service start WEBGUI

4.4          Uninstalling

1.   Stop the WEBGUI service.

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> egosh service stop WEBGUI

2.    Restore the following file on all management hosts with the backed-up file:

> $EGO_TOP/gui/3.1/etc/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/wsm

3.    Clean up the GUI work directory and the browser cache. Delete all subdirectories and files in this directory:

> rm -rf $EGO_TOP/gui/work/*

4.    Start the WEBGUI service.

> egosh service start WEBGUI
