Elastic Storage Server ver 2.5.5 Package Description - Advanced Edition Elastic Storage Server (ESS) Advanced Edition ver 2.5.5 solution is composed of various components tested together for compatibility and correctness. Key components are RHEL, GPFS Native RAID for ESS, and Power System Firmware. 1. Additional Information if upgrading from 2.5.2 You must upgrade to ESS ver 2.5.5 level if your client nodes use an InfiniBand network to access ESS. It is highly recommended not to install or update OFED outside the GPFS Native RAID for ESS solution. 3.3 ESS IO Server Node System Firmware and IBM PCIe3 x8 Cache SAS RAID Internal Adapter Firmware IBM Power System S822L (8247-22L) is used as the IO Server Node and IBM Power System S821L (8247-21L) is used as Executive Management Server (EMS) node. The system firmware and RAID Internal Adapter Firmware is not expected to be upgraded in the field under normal operation. It is highly recommended to limit errata updates applied to the Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system used in the ESS solution to security errata or errata updates requested by service.
