For an environment
with both Platform Symphony 7.1 and LSF 9.1.1, there is a compatibility issue
with the PIM file.
When a Platform
Symphony 7.1 cluster works with LSF 9.1.1 in the same environment, Platform
Symphony renames the PIM file. The sbatchd daemon for LSF requires this PIM
file, and since it can no longer find the file, sbatchd will spend most of its
time in sleep mode and become unresponsive.
Apply this fix to
resolve the compatibility issue.
This fix applies
to Linux x86_64 platform.

Apply this fix if
you have Platform Symphony 7.1 installed.
1.Shut down the cluster
Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator
and run:
> source $EGO_TOP/profile.platform
> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin
> soamcontrol app disable all
> egosh service stop all
> egosh ego shutdown all
2.Back up files
Back up the following files on all hosts:
> $EGO_TOP/3.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/etc/pim
> $EGO_TOP/3.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/etc/pem
1.Log on to all hosts in the cluster and
decompress the sym7.1-build375780.tar.gz package:
> tar -zxvf sym7.1-build375780.tar.gz -C $EGO_TOP
2.Add the EGO_PIM_NAME_WITHOUT_SUFFIX
configuration parameter:
Add and set the configution parameter as "Y" in
$EGO_TOP/kernel/conf/ego.conf:
> EGO_PIM_NAME_WITHOUT_SUFFIX=Y
1.Verify the installation
Run:
> pim –V
> pem -V
The following is an example output of successfully
running the "pim -V" command:
