IBM Platform Symphony 6.1.1 Interim Fix 378230 Readme File

Abstract

The Symphony client loopback connection triggers the Windows firewall.


Description

When a Platform Symphony client, such as symping, is started, the client will initiate socket listening on any IP address, which triggers a Windows firewall alert.
 

This interim fix applies only to the following platforms:

Windows 64-bit

5.  Installation and configuration

5.1   Before installation

             1. Disable all applications.

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

C:\>soamcontrol app disable all

5.2   Installation steps

·     On Windows:

Back up the files:

%SOAM_HOME%\lib64\com_platform_ACE_544_03.dll

%SOAM_HOME%\lib64\com_platform_ACE_544_03.lib

%SOAM_HOME%\lib64\com_platform_ACE_544_03.pdb

%SOAM_HOME%\lib64\com_platform_ACE_544_03_SSL.dll

%SOAM_HOME%\lib64\com_platform_ACE_544_03_SSL.lib

%SOAM_HOME%\lib64\com_platform_ACE_544_03_SSL.pdb

 

Download the files and copy to %SOAM_HOME%\lib64

 

5.3   After installation

              1. Enable the application.

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

> soamcontrol app enable <appName>

5.4   Uninstallation

               1. Disable all applications.

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

> soamcontrol app disable all

               2. Restore the backup files.

·     On Windows:

      Remove the files and copy back-up files to  %SOAM_HOME%\lib64

 

               3. Enable applications.

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

C:\>soamcontrol app enable <appName>
