Abstract
The master LIM restarts due to a WSAENETRESET
error on Windows Server 2008.
Description
Windows 2008 returns a WSAENETRESET error when the UDP packet
has expired. The master LIM encounters this error when it tries to receive data
on the LIM port and restarts itself.
Note that only Windows 2008 encounter this error; Windows 2003 is not affected.
This interim fix applies only to the following platform:

5. Installation
and configuration
5.1 Before installation
Disable all applications and shut down the cluster.
Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:
C:\>soamcontrol
app disable all
C:\>egosh
service stop all
C:\>egosh ego shutdown
all
5.2 Installation steps
1. Copy the ego3.1_win-x64-376623.msp
package to each
management host.
2. Run the installation.
Interactive installation:
Double-click the Platform Symphony MSP
package to run the Platform Symphony installer.
Silent installation:
Run the Platform Symphony installer from
the command line:
C:\>msiexec /update <Symphony_package_name_path> /l*v <symphony_install_log>
/norestart /quiet REINSTALLMODE=omus
Where:
1) Symphony_package_name_path is the fully qualified file name of the ego3.1_win-x64-376623.msp package.
2) symphony_install_log is the log file for the Platform Symphony
upgrade.
For
example, run the following command:
C:\>msiexec /update C:\ego3.1_win-x64-376623.msp /l*v updateSym.log /norestart
/quiet REINSTALLMODE=omus
5.3 After installation
1. Verify the installation.
The following is an example output:
C:\pversions
Platform EGO 3.1.0
Update for Symphony 7.1.0 (build"376623")

2. Start the cluster and enable the application.
Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:
C:\>egosh ego start all
C:\>soamcontrol app enable <appName>
5.4 Uninstalling
1. Disable all applications and shut down the cluster.
Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:
C:\>soamcontrol app disable all
C:\>egosh service stop all
C:\>egosh ego shutdown all
2. Uninstall the fix.
Important:
You
cannot use the Microsoft Windows Add/Remove Programs feature to roll back to a
previous Platform Symphony package on a management or compute host.
a.) Obtain
the Platform Symphony package for Platform Symphony 7.1 (for example, ego3.1_win-x64.msi in
this case).
b.) Use
the following command to roll back Platform Symphony:
C:\>msiexec
/uninstall <Sym_SP_path> /package
<Sym_7.1_path> /norestart /quiet /l*v <sym_rollback_log>
Where:
1) Sym_SP_path is the fully qualified file name of the Platform
Symphony MSP package in this release.
2)
Sym_7.1_path is the fully qualified file name of the Platform Symphony 7.1 MSI package.
3) sym_rollback_log is the log file
for the Platform Symphony rollback.
For example, run the following command:
C:\>msiexec
/uninstall C:\ego3.1_win-x64-376623.msp /package
C:\ego3.1_win-x64.msi /norestart /quiet /l*v rollbackSym.log
3. Start the cluster and enable the application.
Log on to
the master host as the cluster administrator and run:
C:\>egosh ego
start all
C:\>soamcontrol
app enable <appName>
