IBM Platform Symphony 7.1 Interim Fix 366295 Readme File

Abstract

This fix resolves the issue of encountering an exception on the PMC when you add a package dependency.

Description

When you add a package dependency, the PMC shows the following error message:

org.apache.axis2.databinding.ADBException: Unexpected subelement {http://www.platform.com/soam/v14}sdUpdatePackageResponse

This interim fix applies only to the following platform:

Linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64

4. Installation and configuration

4.1 Before installation

1. Stop the application and service.

Log on to the host as the cluster administrator and run:

> soamcontrol app disable all

> egosh service stop SD WEBGUI

2. Back up the affected files.

Log on to each management host in the cluster, and back up the following files that will be replaced by this fix:

> $EGO_TOP/soam/7.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/etc/sd

> $EGO_TOP/gui/soam/7.1/symgui/WEB-INF/lib/soamgui.jar

> $EGO_TOP/gui/soam/7.1/soamgui/WEB-INF/classes/com/platform/soam/gui/api/SdUpdatePackage.class

> $EGO_TOP/gui/soam/7.1/soamgui/WEB-INF/classes/com/platform/soam/gui/api/SdUpdatePackageResponse.class

> $EGO_TOP/gui/soam/7.1/soamgui/WEB-INF/classes/com/platform/soam/gui/api/SdUpdatePackage$Factory.class

> $EGO_TOP/gui/soam/7.1/soamgui/WEB-INF/classes/com/platform/soam/gui/api/SdUpdatePackageResponse$Factory.class

4.2 Installation steps

Log on to each management host in the cluster, and replace the old files with the downloaded package:

> tar zxvf sym7.1-build366295_lnx26-lib23-x64.tar.gz -C $EGO_TOP

4.3 After installation

1. Verify the installation.

Run:

> sd -V

The following example output shows a successful installation:

[root@node01 lbwangbj]# sd -V

2. Clean up the GUI work directory and browser cache by deleting all subdirectories and files in this directory:

> rm -rf $EGO_TOP/gui/work/*

3. Start the application and service:

Log on to the management host as the cluster administrator and run:

> egosh service start SD WEBGUI

> soamcontrol app enable appname

4.4 Uninstallation

1. Stop the application and service:

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

> soamcontrol app disable all

> egosh service stop SD WEBGUI

2. Restore the backup file:

Log on to all management hosts and restore the backed up files:

> $EGO_TOP/soam/7.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/etc/sd

> $EGO_TOP/gui/soam/7.1/symgui/WEB-INF/lib/soamgui.jar

> $EGO_TOP/gui/soam/7.1/soamgui/WEB-INF/classes/com/platform/soam/gui/api/SdUpdatePackage.class

> $EGO_TOP/gui/soam/7.1/soamgui/WEB-INF/classes/com/platform/soam/gui/api/SdUpdatePackageResponse.class

> $EGO_TOP/gui/soam/7.1/soamgui/WEB-INF/classes/com/platform/soam/gui/api/SdUpdatePackage$Factory.class

> $EGO_TOP/gui/soam/7.1/soamgui/WEB-INF/classes/com/platform/soam/gui/api/SdUpdatePackageResponse$Factory.class

> $EGO_TOP/gui/soam/7.1/soamgui/WEB-INF/classes/com/platform/soam/gui/api/RealSOAMApiWrapper.class
