IBM Platform Symphony 6.1.1 Interim Fix 353886 Readme File

Abstract

In a race condition, the task state in history files is incorrectly recorded as "running" state.

Description

The task should be a final state (Done, Canceled, or Aborted) in the history files, but in a race condition, the state is recorded as "running" state. This fix corrects the state. 

This fix applies only to the following platform:

linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64

4. Installation and configuration

4.1 Before installation

1. Disable all applications

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

> source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform

> soamcontrol app disable all

 2.  Back up the following file on all management hosts

>$SOAM_SERVERDIR/ssm

4.2      Installation steps

Log on to all management hosts in the cluster and replace following SSM binary with the downloaded one:

> $SOAM_SERVERDIR/ssm

4.3 After installation

1. Verify the installation

Run:

# ssm –V

2. Enable the application

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

> source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform

> soamcontrol app enable AppName

4.4 Uninstalling

1. Disable all applications

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

> source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform

> soamcontrol app disable all

2. Log on to all management hosts in the cluster and restore the backup file for the following binary:

>$SOAM_SERVERDIR/ssm

3. Enable the application

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

> source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform

> soamcontrol app enable AppName
