Abstract

The VEMKD error message for Kerberos vemkd-pem authentication is not clear.

Description

This fix enhances the VEMKD error message for Kerberos vemkd-pem authentication.

This fix applies only to the following platform:

4.   Installation and configuration

4.1          Before installation 

1.    Disable all applications and shut down the cluster.

> soamcontrol app disable all

> egosh service stop all

> egosh ego shutdown all

 

2.    Back up files.

Log on to all hosts in the cluster and back up the following file that will be replaced by this fix:

> $EGO_TOP/1.2.8/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/etc/vemkd

> $EGO_TOP/1.2.8/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/etc/pem

 

4.2          Installation steps 

Log on to all hosts in the cluster and replace your current binary with the downloaded one in the following directory:

> $EGO_TOP/1.2.8/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/etc/vemkd

> $EGO_TOP/1.2.8/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/etc/pem

 

4.3          After installation 

1. Verify the installation.

Run the following command:
$ vemkd -V

The following is an example output of successfully verifying the installation:

2. Start the cluster and enable the application.

> egosh ego start all

> soamcontrol app enable <appName>

 

4.4          Uninstallation 

1.    Disable all applications and shutdown the cluster.

> soamcontrol app disable all

> egosh service stop all

> egosh ego shutdown all

2.     Uninstall.

Log on to all management hosts in cluster and restore the backup file for the following binary:

> $EGO_TOP/1.2.8/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/etc/vemkd

> $EGO_TOP/1.2.8/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/etc/pem

3.    Start the cluster and enable the application.

> egosh ego start all

> soamcontrol app enable <appName>
