Abstract
When adding a package dependency using PMC on
Microsoft Internet Explorer 10, it fails with error message “Fatal error at
line 1, column 1: Invalid document structure”.
Description
When adding a package dependency using PMC (Resources > Service Packages > Symphony Service Packages) on
Internet Explorer 10, you encounter a “Fatal error at line 1, column 1: Invalid document
structure” error.
After applying this fix, you can
successfully save the package dependency.
This fix applies to all supported
platforms.

4.1
Before
installation
1. Stop the WEBGUI service.
> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin
> egosh service stop WEBGUI
2. Back up file the following
file:
>
$EGO_TOP/gui/soam/7.1/soamgui/js/servPackEditor.js
4.2 Installation
steps
1. Decompress the sym7.1-build350652.tar.gz package.
2. Copy
the servPackEditor.js file to the following directory on the
management hosts:
> cp servPackEditor.js $EGO_TOP/gui/soam/7.1/soamgui/js/
4.3 After installation
1. Clean up the GUI work directory and the browser cache by deleting all subdirectories and files from this directory:
> rm -rf $EGO_TOP/gui/work/*
2. Start the WEBGUI service.
> egosh
user logon -u Admin -x Admin
> egosh service start WEBGUI
4.4
Uninstalling
1. Stop the WEBGUI
service.
>
egosh
user logon -u Admin -x Admin
> egosh service stop WEBGUI
2. Restore the following
file on all management hosts with the backed-up file:
> $EGO_TOP/gui/soam/7.1/soamgui/js/servPackEditor.js
3. Clean up the GUI work directory and the browser cache by deleting all subdirectories and files from this directory:
> rm -rf $EGO_TOP/gui/work/*
4. Start the WEBGUI
service.
>
egosh
service start WEBGUI
