Abstract
After running many PMC or
command line queries on session information for MapReduce
jobs, the SSM encounters memory leakage in Symphony 6.1.1 for BigInsight 3.0.
Description
The SSM is no longer available
after encountering memory leakage because of running many PMC or command line
queries on session information for MapReduce jobs.
This fix applies only to the following platform:
linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64

5. Installation and configuration
5.1 Before installation
1. Shut down the cluster
Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator
and run:
> source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform
>
soamcontrol app disable all
>
egosh service stop all
> egosh ego shutdown all
2. Back up the following file on all management hosts
>$SOAM_SERVERDIR/ssm
5.2 Installation
steps
Log on to all management hosts in the cluster and
replace following SSM binary with the downloaded one:
>
$SOAM_SERVERDIR/ssm
5.3 After installation
1. Verify the installation
Run:
# ssm
¨CV
The following is an example output of successfully
running the above command:

2. Start the cluster
Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator
and run:
> source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform
> egosh ego start
all
> soamcontrol app
enable AppName
5.4 Uninstalling
1. Stop the cluster
Log
on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:
> source
$EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform
> soamcontrol app disable all
>
egosh service stop all
> egosh ego shutdown all
2. Log on to all management hosts in the cluster and restore the backup file for the following binary:
>$SOAM_SERVERDIR/ssm
3. Start the cluster
Log on
to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:
>
source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform
>
egosh ego start all
> soamcontrol app enable AppName
