Abstract
After running many PMC or
command line queries, the EGO service controller (egosc)
encounters a socket FD leakage.
Description
The EGO service controller no
longer shows the EGO service list to the client because of a socket FD leakage
from running many PMC or command line queries on service.
This fix patch applies only to the following platform:
linux2.6-glibc2.5-ppc64

5. Installation and configuration
5.1 Before installation
1. Shut down the cluster
Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator
and run:
> source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform
>
soamcontrol app disable all
>
egosh service stop all
> egosh ego shutdown all
2. Back up files on all management hosts
>$EGO_TOP/1.2.8/linux2.6-glibc2.5-ppc64/etc/egosc
>$EGO_TOP/1.2.8/linux2.6-glibc2.5-ppc64/bin/egosh
>$EGO_TOP/gui/ego/1.2.8/lib/linux2.6-glibc2.5-ppc64/libVEMApiCommon.so
>$EGO_TOP/soam/mapreduce/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.5-ppc64/lib64/libVEMApiCommon.so
>$EGO_TOP/1.2.8/linux2.6-glibc2.5-ppc64/lib/libesc.so
5.2 Installation
steps
Copy the appropriate zip packages to
each management host:
>cp sym6.1.1-build344105_lnx26-lib25-ppc64.tar.gz $EGO_TOP/
>tar ¨Czxvf sym6.1.1-build344105_lnx26-lib25-ppc64.tar.gz
5.3 After installation
1. Verify the installation.
# egosc -V

2. Start the cluster

1. Stop the cluster

2. Restore files on all management hosts with the backed-up files
>$EGO_TOP/1.2.8/linux2.6-glibc2.5-ppc64/etc/egosc
>$EGO_TOP/1.2.8/linux2.6-glibc2.5-ppc64/bin/egosh
>$EGO_TOP/gui/ego/1.2.8/lib/linux2.6-glibc2.5-ppc64/libVEMApiCommon.so
>$EGO_TOP/soam/mapreduce/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.5-ppc64/lib64/libVEMApiCommon.so
>$EGO_TOP/1.2.8/linux2.6-glibc2.5-ppc64/lib/libesc.so
4. Start the cluster
Log
