IBM Platform Symphony 6.1.1 Interim Fix #333544 Readme File

Abstract

After upgrading from IBM InfoSphere BigInsights version 2.1.0.1 to version 3.0, there is no script to upgrade the MapReduce PMR_SESSION_COUNTERS_HIST and PMR_TASK_COUNTERS_HIST tables.

Description

After upgrading InfoSphere BigInsights from version 2.1.0.1 to version 3.0, which corresponds to upgrading Platform Symphony from version 6.1.0.1 to version 6.1.1, there is no script to upgrade the MapReduce PMR_SESSION_COUNTERS_HIST and PMR_TASK_COUNTERS_HIST tables.

After applying this fix, data can be successfully loaded to the PMR_SESSION_COUNTERS_HIST and PMR_TASK_COUNTERS_HIST tables.

This fix applies to all supported platforms.

4.1 Before installation

Shut down the Derby database, PLC, and purger services:

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

$source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform

$egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

$egosh service stop derbydb plc purger

4.2        Installation steps

1.   Apply Interim Fix #328587 before applying this fix. Refer to the README file for Interim Fix #328587 for detailed steps.

2. Add the PMR_SESSION_COUNTERS_HIST and PMR_TASK_COUNTERS_HIST tables:

a. Copy upgrade_pmr_data_6_1_to_6_1_1.sql to the directory where you have installed your Oracle database.

b. Run the following script to add the PMR_SESSION_COUNTERS_HIST and PMR_TASK_COUNTERS_HIST tables:

$sqlplus
SQL>@upgrade_pmr_data_6_1_to_6_1_1.sql TSDATA_NAME TSINDEX_NAME

4.3 After installation

Start the PLC and purger services:

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

$ source $EGO_TOP/cshrc.platform

$ egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

$ egosh service start plc purger
