IBM Platform Symphony 6.1.1 Fix 328476 Readme File

Abstract

The hostname should be recorded as 'resourceName' in harvesting_resourceinfo.soamdb

Description

In existing output in harvesting_resourceinfo.soamdb by IS service for VM type resources, the VM name will be appended instead of the hostname hosting the VM.

This fix applies only to the following platform:

Linux 64-bit

4. Installation and configuration

4.1 Before installation

1. Stop the cluster.

> source cshrc.platform

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> soamcontrol app disable all

> egosh service stop all

> egosh ego shutdown

2. Back up the file.

Log on to each host in the cluster and back up the following file that will be replaced by this fix:

> $EGO_TOP/is/6.1.1/lib/ISOrchestrator.jar

4.2 Installation steps

Log on to each host in the cluster and replace the old file with the downloaded one in the following directory:

> cp sym6.1.1_build328476.zip $EGO_TOP/is/6.1.1/lib/

>unzip sym6.1.1_build328476.zip

4.3 After installation

1. Start the cluster.

> egosh ego start

4.4 Uninstallation

1. Stop the cluster.

> source cshrc.platform

> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

> soamcontrol app disable all

> egosh service stop all

> egosh ego shutdown

2. Restore the backup file.

Log on to each host and restore the backup file for the following file:

> $EGO_TOP/is/6.1.1/lib/ISOrchestrator.jar

3. Start the cluster.

> egosh ego start
