Abstract

APAR#P100802. Fix to use actual number of CPUs instead of maximum number of CPUs if a job is submitted with 'bsub -n x, y'.

Description

This solution addresses the following issues:

• Job efficiency is not calculated correctly for the non-resizable parallel jobs. When a job is submitted with bsub -n x,y, maximum number of CPUs is considered for calculation instead of actual number of CPUs. Apply this fix if you want to use actual number of CPUs instead of maximum number of CPUs if a job is submitted with 'bsub -n x, y'.

After deploy this solution, resizeable job efficiency might be bigger than 100% if some of used slots are released before job finished.

5.1 Before installation

• Back up the following files of Platform RTM:
# cd <RTM_TOP>
# tar -cvf cacti_backup_9.1.3-248138.tar \
cacti/plugins/grid/grid_bjobs.php \
cacti/plugins/grid/lib/grid_functions.php \
cacti/plugins/gridpend/poller_gridpend.php \
cacti/plugins/heuristics/heuristics_jobs.php \
rtm/lsf91/bin/gridjobs

5.2 Installation steps

• Download and extract rtm9.1.3-build248138.tar.gz to directory <RTM_TOP>:
# cd <RTM_TOP>
# tar -xzvf rtm9.1.3-build248138.tar.gz

• cacti/plugins/grid/grid_bjobs.php
• cacti/plugins/grid/lib/grid_functions.php
