The CICS Explorer 5.1.1 system requirements are listed on the CICS Explorer System Requirements tab.
If CICS Explorer is being installed with IBM Explorer for z/OS as the base package group, then IBM Explorer for z/OS V2.1.0.5, at least, is required.
To find your workspace folder select "File -> Switch Workspace -> Other...". The pop up window will show you the location of the currently used workspace folder, for example "C:\Users\Admin\.cicsexplorer".
To backup the CICS Explorer Workspace, including the connection definitions, copy the workspace folder to another folder or compress it into an archive folder.
Installing
There are two main ways of installing the CICS Explorer fix pack:
It is recommended that you use IBM Installation Manager to install and update CICS Explorer.
If you would like to continue to use the Eclipse provided update method then follow these instructions:
None
The CICS TS support site will also cover the CICS Explorer product.
If using IBM Installation Manager, to revert back to the old version of the CICS Explorer, this can be achieved by using the Rollback function.
Otherwise, if you decide that you want to revert back to the old version of the CICS Explorer, you will be able to replace the .cicsexplorer folder with the backup that you made prior to upgrading.
