Abstract

There is a SSM memory leak for BigInsights3.0 FP1.

 

Description

There is file descriptor leak in SSM, which can cause a SSM memory leak.

This fix patch applies only to the following platform:

       Linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64

5.  Installation and configuration

5.1         Before installation

1.  Stop the applications. Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

> soamcontrol app disable all

2. Back up the following file on all management hosts:

$EGO_TOP/soam/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/etc/ssm

5.2        Installation steps

Copy SSM to the following directory on all management hosts:

$EGO_TOP/soam/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/etc/

5.3          After installation

1. Verify the installation:

             ssm -V

2. Start the applications. Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

> soamcontrol app enable $appName

5.4          Uninstalling

1.   Stop the applications. Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

> soamcontrol app disable all

2.    Restore the following file on all management hosts with the backed-up file:

$EGO_TOP/soam/6.1.1/linux2.6-glibc2.3-x86_64/etc/ssm

3.   Start the applications. Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

> soamcontrol app enable $appName
