Abstract

In a multiple threads environment, when processing many requests from different users to register fragment updates, you may experience periodic user permission errors.

Description

When the repository server (RS) processes many requests from different users, it reports user permission errors despite the user having the appropriate permissions to work with the consumer.

This fix addresses the following issue:

4.   Installation and configuration

4.1        Before installation

1.     Stop the RS service

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

C:\> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

C:\> egosh service stop RS

4.2        Installation steps 

Install the EGO msp package.

Install the ego1.2.5_win-x64-235823.msp package on each host that might run the RS service.

กค If you are using the interactive installation:

Download the appropriate ego1.2.5_win-x64-235823 package and double-click the EGO MSP package to run the EGO installer.

กค If you are using the silent installation:

Run the EGO installers from the command line using the following command:

C:\>msiexec /update <ego_package_name_path> /l*v <ego_install_log> /norestart /quiet REINSTALLMODE=omus

where:

- ego_package_name_path is the fully qualified file name of the EGO MSP package in this release.

- ego_install_log is the log file for the EGO upgrade.

For example, to update a Windows 64-bit master host, run the following commands:

C:\>msiexec /update C:\ego1.2.5_win-x64-235823.msp  /l*v updateEGO.log /norestart /quiet REINSTALLMODE=omus 

4.3          After installation 

1.     Verify the installation.

C:\> %EGO_TOP%\1.2.5\etc\rs.exe -V

2.     Start the RS service

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

C:\> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

C:\> egosh service start RS

4.4          Uninstallation 

1.     Stop the RS service

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

C:\> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

C:\> egosh service stop RS

2.       Uninstall.

Use the following command on each host that was installed with the EGO msp package to roll back EGO:

C:\>msiexec /uninstall <Ego_SP_path> /package <Ego_1.2.5_path> /norestart /quiet /l*v <sym_rollback_log>

where:

- Ego_SP_path is the fully qualified file name of the EGO msp package in this release.

- Ego_1.2.5 path is the fully qualified file name of the EGO 1.2.5 msi package.

- Ego_rollback_log is the log file for the EGO rollback.

3.       Start the RS service

Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:

C:\> egosh user logon -u Admin -x Admin

C:\> egosh service start RS
