IBM Platform Symphony
Abstract
With this interim fix,
Symphony will use the local system time zone in the service and task logs.
Description
By default, Symphony uses GMT+0 time zone
in the service and task logs, which is not configurable. With this interim fix,
Symphony will use the local system time zone in the service and task logs.
This fix addresses the following issues:
Cannot change time zone for PMR service logs and
task logs.
This fix patch applies only to the following
platform:
Linux 64-bit

Before
installation
1. Disable the application.
Log on to the master host
as the cluster administrator and run:
> soamcontrol
app disable MapReduce
2. Back up the file.
Log on to each compute host and back up the following files
that will be replaced by this fix:
>
$EGO_TOP/soam/mapreduce/
> $EGO_TOP/soam/mapreduce/

Installation
steps
1. Apply
the fix.
Log on to each compute host and replace the old file with
the downloaded one in the following directories:
>
$EGO_TOP/soam/mapreduce/
>
$EGO_TOP/soam/mapreduce/
2. Configuration.
To enable the interim fix, add the following environment
variable to the Service section of the MapReduce
application profile:

name="LOG_SYSTEM_TIME_ZONE">Y</env>

After
installation
Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:
> soamcontrol app enable MapReduce
4.4
Uninstallation
1. Disable the application.
Log on to the master host as the cluster administrator and run:
> soamcontrol app disable MapReduce
2. Restore
the backup file.
Log on to each compute host and restore the backup files for
the following files:
>
$EGO_TOP/soam/mapreduce/
>
$EGO_TOP/soam/mapreduce/
3.
Remove the configuration from the MapReduce application profile.

4. Enable
the application.
Log on to the master host
as the cluster administrator and run:
> soamcontrol app enable MapReduce
