Changelog
Problems fixed and features added in Integrated Switch Network Manager (ISNM) 1.1.0.7 [May 16, 2014]
- Two race conditions which could lead CNM to core dump during CECs bringup are fixed.
Problems fixed and features added in Integrated Switch Network Manager (ISNM) 1.1.0.6 [June 21, 2013]
- Two new commands isrmon and isrperf are added to analyze ISR Network using ISR Network Performance Counters collected periodically.
- The ISR Network activity like flits sent, flits dropped, packets sent, packets dropped, etc. by each ISR Link, HFI adapter or Hub Chip can be continuously monitored using the new command isrmon. This command can be used to analyze ISR Network activity, identify communication hot spots in the ISR Network.
- The new command isrperf can be used to analyze (historical) Network activity like flits sent, flits dropped, packets sent, packets dropped, etc. by each ISR Link, HFI adapter or Hub Chip for a given period of time (historical) for which ISR Network Performance Counters are collected and stored in xCat Database.
- By default the ISR Network Performance Counters data collection is disabled. The ISR Network Performance Counters data collection can be enabled by setting the configuration keyword PERF_DATA_INTERVAL to non-zero value (period at which the Performance Counters are collected) using the command chnwconfig.
- Fixed the possible inconsistent service processor states returned by different ISNM commands after service processor failover.
Problems fixed and features added in Integrated Switch Network Manager (ISNM) 1.1.0.5 [November 5, 2012]
- Modified the "chnwm -q" command to report accurate state information when run in a high availability environment.
- Added two additional utilities to assist in analysis of routing issues.
- Fixed an issue with bad location ids being reported after a service processor failover.
- Fixed a locking problem that can lead to a deadlock in the recovery thread.
Problems fixed and features added in Integrated Switch Network Manager (ISNM) 1.1.0.4 [June 29, 2012]
- Changed the location id format in the EVT_SUM.log to match the format in the CNM logs and command output.
- Added the output of the "lsnwloc", "lsnwlinkinfo", "lsnwcomponents" and "lsnwtopo" commands to cnm.snap.
- Fixed an issue with bad location ids being displayed by the "lsnwloc" command.
- Made improvements to the optical module dump function of the "nwlinkdiag" command.
- Fixed a core dump/memory leak related to multicast management.
- Fixed a core dump/memory leak related to global counter management.
- Made additional memory management improvements.
Problems fixed and features added in Integrated Switch Network Manager (ISNM) 1.1.0.3 [April 10, 2012]
- Added an example network health check script to /var/opt/isnm/cnm/samples/hfi_health.
- Improved filtering of network events caused by CECs powering off.
- Added support for cross-coupled topologies.
- Improved link status reporting for CECs that are powered off.
- Added improved link diagnostics to the "nwlinkdiag" command.
- CNM now validates that the correct multicast timer settings are applied upon restart.
- The command "chnwm -q" modified to no longer return "cat: 0652-050 Cannot open /var/opt/isnm/cnm/log/nmcmd.log.XXXXXX."
- Improved multicast tree maximum depth checking.
- The command "chnwsvrconfig -f " fixed to only change the configuration information for CECs in the specified frame.
- The command "lsnwdownhw -L" modified to report links that are in the "DOWN_DISABLED_ERR" state.
- Improved service processor exploration during CNM startup.
