Product/Component Release: 9.1.2
Update name: MultiCluster support for application level
PROCLIMIT
Publication date: 26 March 2014
Last modified: 26 March 2014
Abstract: This enhancement enables IBM Platform MultiCluster
("MultiCluster") to consider the remote
application level PROCLIMIT configuration before forwarding jobs to the
execution
cluster. This enhancement
is for the MultiCluster job forwarding model only.

2. About MultiCluster support for application level
PROCLIMIT
=========================
LSF does not consider the remote PROCLIMIT configuration of application
profiles before forwarding jobs to
the execution cluster. When execution clusters configure
different PROCLIMIT
parameters to suit application
execution, LSF rejects and returns the jobs to the
submission cluster if the jobs cannot be
executed in the
execution cluster. The jobs may become suspended in the
submission cluster.
This enhancement provides the following functions in the
MultiCluster job forwarding model:
- Submission clusters support the use of PROCLIMIT in the application
profile on execution clusters.
- LSF considers the PROCLIMIT in the remote application profile before
forwarding jobs to the execution
cluster. If the execution cluster's application profile PROCLIMIT
cannot satisfy the
job slots requirement, LSF
does not forward the job to the execution cluster. This reduces the
number of jobs that LSF
rejects and returns
to the submission cluster after the job is first forwarded to the
execution cluster.
