Abstract

Platform Symphony does not restart and no message is logged in the elim or melim logs when elim hangs.

This fix addresses the following issue:

Restarting Symphony and logging a message when elim hangs.

5. Installation and configuration

5.1 Before installation

1. Disable all applications and shutdown the cluster.

Log on to the master host as cluster administrator.
Go to Start and enter the following command into the Symphony 6.1.1 command prompt:

> soamcontrol app disable all

Go to Start and enter the following command into EGO CLI:

> egosh service stop all

> egosh ego shutdown

2. Setting in ego.conf.
Add one line at last in ego.conf

> EGO_MELIM_ELIM_UPDATE_FAILURE_CNT=xxx

xxx stands for an int value > 0

5.2 Installation steps

1. Apply the msp fix patch.

5.3 After installation

1. Enable all applications and start the cluster.

Log on to the master host as cluster administrator.

Got to Start and enter the following command into EGO CLI:

> egosh ego start

Got to Start and enter the following command into the Symphony 6.1.1 command prompt

> soamcontrol app enable <appName>

5.4 Uninstallation

1. Disable all applications and shut down the cluster.

Log on to the master host as cluster administrator.

Go to Start and enter the following command into the Symphony 6.1.1 command prompt:

> soamcontrol app disable all

Go to Start and enter the following command into EGO CLI:

> egosh service stop all

> egosh ego shutdown

2. Uninstall msp,

To uninstall msp, go to Control Panel > Programs.

3. Unsetting,

Delete the line in ego.conf

> EGO_MELIM_ELIM_UPDATE_FAILURE_CNT=xxx
