Installing an IBM Parallel Environment Developer Edition (IBM PE DE) client update

The ppedev-1.3.0-2* file is an all-in-one bundle with Eclipse basics, including Parallel Tools Platform (PTP) and the IBM HPC Toolkit additions

The ppedev_update-1.3.0-2.zip file is an Eclipse update site archive containing PTP and the IBM HPC Toolkit additions intended for installation into an existing Eclipse Kepler installation

For installation documentation, refer to the New Eclipse and plug-ins installation section or IBM PE Developer plug-in only installation section of the IBM Parallel Environment Developer Edition Eclipse Client for AIX and Linux Version 1 Release 3 Installation Guide . Note that where the Installation Guide refers to the base versions of the files, for this PTF, you will use the 1.3.0-2 versions of the files.

The following fixes apply to IBM PE Developer Edition workbench.

IBM PE DE 1.3.0.2 [Oct 25, 2013]

IBM PE DE workbench:
1. HPC Toolkit plug-in interactions with the remote system now run on separate threads and have progress monitors associated with them to avoid locking up the Eclipse user interface.
2. Data for individual threads of an openMP program is now displayed in the HPC Toolkit plug-in.
3. The MPI trace viewer in the HPC Toolkit plug-in correctly displays the task numbers provided by the collected data.
4. Informational messages in the HPC Toolkit plug-in have been improved.
5. Fix the 'HPCT' popup menu so it appears only in the Project Explorer view.
IBM PE DE 1.3.0.1 [Sept 06, 2013]

IBM PE DE workbench:
1. Eliminate Eclipse UI hangs on long running queries using LSF target system configuration
2. Eliminate null pointer exception in LSF target system configuration when LSF incorrectly configured
3. Fix problem preventing instrumenting application with HPC Toolkit from Eclipse project explorer popup menu
4. Fix problem that forced user to click apply in HPC Toolkit profile configuration dialog before clicking performance analysis tab
5. Fix for too many progress popups when opening launch configuration dialog
6. Fix problem that advanced options tab has no effect on interactive configurations
7. SystemRemoteFolderDialog now returns a path when selecting 'My Home' or 'Root'
8. Allow arguments to mpirun in the PBS resource manager
9. EMS Build settings now saved
10. Fix problem that deleting some files in synchronized project deletes all files in remote target directory
11. Enable Get Job Output/Error menus in inactive jobs view when job completes
12. Fix for job arguments in run configuration dialog cannot be changed to empty string
13. Fix problem that completed job removed from inactive list reappears after monitor refresh
