Installation of the xCAT Direct FSP Management (DFM) rpm is documented in xCAT Power 775 Hardware Management.
Please follow this document to install the xCAT-dfm rpm and the required IBM HPC Hardware Server package.
The xCAT Direct FSP Management (DFM) plugin provides power control, console, firmware upgrade, environmental information and additional function for IBM Power 755 hardware through xCAT commands such as rpower, rcons, rflash, rinv, rvitals and more. This xCAT DFM release adds support for IBM Flex System p260, p240 and 24L power servers. The xCAT DFM function communicates directly to the hardware without requiring an HMC.
The DFM plugin requires xCAT 2.7.6 or later.
The DFM plugin requires the IBM HPC Hardware Server package, isnm.hdwr_svr 1.1.0.5 or later to communicate to the hardware.
The DFM 2.7.6 New Function and Restrictions and Known Problems can be found in the XCAT 2.7.6 Release Notes
