Please refer to the "IBM Parallel Environment Runtime Edition Installation" for details.

If you are installing IBM Parallel Environment Runtime Edition for Linux for the FIRST time, you will get the complete product by installing this release image.

Before installing IBM PE Runtime Edition you will need to install the IBM System Resource Controller RPM on you system type first. You will do this by invoking the 'rpm -i' command.

You will have to copy the IBM PE Runtime Edition electronic license RPM from the PE RTE 1.2.0.0 CD and install it together with the other PE RPMs from this service image.
Download the PPE RTE for Linux update package into any directory on your system.
Unzip and extract the RPM image(s) from the *.tar.gz file.
Install the PPE RTE updates on your system using the rpm -i command. Refer to the "IBM Parallel Environment Runtime Edition Installation" for detailed information on upgrading IBM PE Runtime Edition for Linux.

This release media contains all RPM images of the IBM Parallel Environment (IBM PE) Runtime Edition for Linux V1.2.0.5 (PERTE1205) This file contains information about the release media, for detailed information about this release please refer to the /opt/ibmhpc/pe1205/ppe.poe/README/poe.linux.README file or to the IBM Parallel Environment Runtime Edition Installation document.

IBM PERTE1205 supports:

IBM X-Architecture systems with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP1.
IBM X-Architecture systems with RedHat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.2

This release rolls up all fixes that has gone into previous PE Runtime Edition releases.

This service image does not contain a IBM PE Runtime Edition electronic license RPM.

The electronic license RPM is available from the PE Runtime Edition 1.2.0.0 CD.

You need to install the PE Runtime Edition license RPM and run the license

acceptance script if you are installing IBM PE Runtime Edition for the first time.
