Work with detailed settings - Service and support proxy
The Work with detailed settings - Service and support proxy panel is used to configure a Service and Support proxy on this system through which other systems or partitions connect to IBM support.
- Configure this system or virtual server to serve as the connection point through which other systems or virtual servers in your network connect to IBM support - Select this option to configure this system as the connection point to IBM support.
- Any interface - Select this option to use all available interfaces to listen for connections from other systems or partitions.
- Select interfaces - Select this option to use only the selected interfaces to listen for connections from other systems or partitions.
- Enable column - Select the connections to enable.
- IP Address column - The IP Address to use.
- Interface column - The description of the interface to be used.
- * Server port - Enter the port number on which the service and support proxy server accepts connections from other systems or partitions. The default server port number is 5026.
- Require HTTP basic authentication - Select this option to indicate that this proxy requires basic HTTP authentication. Users of this proxy are required to authenticate by supplying the following information:
- * User name - Enter the user name that the proxy server requires for authentication.
- Password - Enter the password associated with the user name that the proxy server
requires for authentication.
- Verify password - Re-enter the password associated with the user name that the proxy server requires for authentication.
- The status of the service and support proxy is - Indicates if the status of the service and support proxy is Running or Stopped.
- Start service and support proxy on Apply/OK - Select this option to start the service and support proxy when Apply or OK are selected.
- Stop service and support proxy on Apply/OK - Select this option to stop the service and support proxy when Apply or OK are selected.
Panel buttons
- OK - Click to save the changes made to the panel and return to the previous
panel.
- Apply - Click to save the changes made to the panel and leave the panel
displayed.
- Cancel - Click to return to the previous panel without saving the changes to
the panel.
