Installation, migration, upgrade, and configuration

To Install

  1. Download the 4.5.1.2-P8PA-FP002.zip file, and extract its contents to a temporary location.

  2. On the Process Analyzer server, open the Process Task Manager and stop Process Analyzer.

  3. Close the Process Task Manager.

  4. On the Process Analyzer server, use the Windows Services utility to stop the Process Services Manager.

  5. Make a backup of Process Analyzer Software, Process Analyzer database and the OLAP database.

  6. Execute the fix pack installer file.

    1. Click Next on the welcome screen.

    2. Click Next to begin the fix pack installation process.

  7. Once setup has installed Process Analyzer software, clear the option to restart Process Analyzer Services Manager, then click Next.

  8. Click Finish.

  9. Restart Process Analyzer Service Manager in Windows Services.

  10. Open Process Analyzer Task Manager and start Process Analyzer.

To install silently

  1. Download the P8PA-4.5.1.2-Engine.exe and PA_silent_install.txt files from the IBM FTP site.

  2. Copy these files over to a local temp directory.

  3. On Process Analyzer server, open the Process Task Manager and stop Process Analyzer.

  4. Close the Process Task Manager.

  5. On Process Analyzer server, use the Windows Services utility to stop the Process Services Manager.

  6. Make a backup of Process Analyzer Software, Process Analyzer database and the OLAP database.

  7. Open a command window and navigate to the location containing the fix pack installer.

  8. From the command window, execute: P8PA-4.5.1.2-Engine.exe -silent

    Tip The installer updates Process Analyzer with the fix pack using the settings included with the base installation.

  9. When the installation is complete, check PAInstalllog.txt and PAServiceInstalllog.txt to verify the installation was successful.

  10. Restart Process Analyzer Service Manager in Windows Services.

  11. Open Process Analyzer Task Manager and start Process Analyzer.

Removing this fix pack

Once you install this fix pack, it cannot be reversed.

To support Chinese characters in user defined fields, when you modify the varchar data type to nvarchar in a stored procedure, Process Analyzer resets the data type back to varchar after restarting.

Exposing a User Defined Field in one region results in the update being improperly applied to User Defined Fields in the Fact tables of other regions.

Duplicate events are created when region time stamps are reset in the VWIsolReg table on the Process Engine.
