Known problems and workarounds

At time of publication, the following problem was known:

Object names do not appear in IBM Metadata Workbench after IBM Information Server FastTrack is installed (eCase 129617)
IBM Metadata Workbench might not display information correctly after IBM Information Server FastTrack has been installed. When you browse to any object in IBM Metadata Workbench, the object name is listed as <No Name>.
Workaround
You can delete the rows of three tables in the IBM Information Server repository. The data deleted is specific to IBM Metadata Workbench only. Deleting the rows does not effect any IBM Information Server content or application. The following procedure assumes that the repository is installed on IBM DB2®.
To fix the problem of displaying object names:
  1. Log off of the IBM Metadata Workbench and IBM Information Server Web Console.
  2. Close all IBM Information Server suite tools.
  3. Launch DB2 Command Center and browse to the database XMETA.
  4. Filter the list of tables to display 'DECORATION%'.
  5. Delete all rows of each of the following tables. Important: Do not delete the tables. Commit your changes and save each table.
    • DECORATIONS_XMETAGEN_INSTANCEDECORATION...
    • DECORATIONS_XMETAGEN_MODELDECORATION...
    • DECORATIONS_XMETAGEN_MODELDECORATIONICON...

Each table name has an ID number appended to it.

  6. Commit your changes and save each table.
  7. Close DB2 Command Center.
  8. Close WebSphere Application Server.
  9. Start WebSphere Application Server.
  10. Log on to IBM Metadata Workbench. The logon time might take longer than usual.
