This document provides information about the fixes, features and requirements included in Report Manager Fix pack RM-5.01.0-004.

New in this fix pack

 

The fixes in this fix pack:

• PRM Load directory loosed files after TS crashes in PRM 5.0 fix pack 2.
• Text searching in a Open document from RM Desktop, was not returning the exact number of matches found.
• Security options information updated in Report Manager SysAdmin guide.
• Function UPDATE-PRMDocument - Arithmetic overflow error converting IDENTITY to data type int. loading documents.
• Runtime error 5 was occurring when using Fixed File Name in FileNet Report Manager Burst Service.
• Document deletion function was unable to remove PRMannotation table records.

Support Documentation

You can find a copy of the latest Report Manager Documentation and the Report Manager Documentation packages and the Report Manager 5.0a Installation Guide available on the IBM Customer Service and Support web site for FileNet customers.

You will need an IBM-issued login name and password to access the web site.

Note:
Search is enabled in the help system only if you have installed it as a web site on a web server that supports Java™ applications.

Installing Report Manager Fix Pack

To install the latest fix pack to obtain the features and fixes for the new components.

  1. Backup the existing product directories prior to installation of fixes.
  2. Copy the self-extracting executable RM-5.01.0-004.exe to a temporary directory.
  3. Stop all Report Manager Services if they are running.
  4. Double-click the downloaded Fix Pack (RM-5.01.0-004.exe) file to extract the installation package.
  5. The Setup program upgrades the current configuration.
  6. Prior to the installation, a log is created in the Windows directory. The file name for the client is prmdinst.log, while for the server it is prmsinst.log.

Silent install from the Web server

Report Manager 5.0a fix pack supports silent installation for Report Manager. See the topic "Silent Install and Upgrade of Report Manager" in the Report Manager Install Guide.pdf to perform a silent install. For performing silent install of Report Manager Fix pack, you need to specify the name of the fix pack exe (RM-5.1.0-004.exe) instead of setup.exe.

Uninstall this Fix Pack

Once this Fix Pack is installed, the process cannot be reversed.

Fixed the problem: Sometimes, though Service controller is shut down, it gives an error message saying "Service controller is already running. You cannot have multiple instances of Service Controller pointing to same Traffic/Storage Service. This Instance of Service Controller will be Terminated". Now it allows the user to launch the Service Controller and gives appropriate message to the user in all cases.
