Terminology

x86 - This term is used to reference the Intel hypervisors (KVM, VMWare, Xen) on which Virtual HMC can be installed. Note: HMC V10R2 release for x86 is not supported on bare metal (7042 hardware appliances).

ppc64 or ppc64le - describes the Linux code that is compiled to run on Power-based servers or LPARS (Logical Partitions)

This package represents an interim fix for HMC V10 R2 M1040 for vHMC on x86_64 hypervisors. You can also reference this package by APAR MB04411 and PTF MF71106. This PTF can be installed on HMC V10 R2 M1040.

PTF MF71107 HMC V10 R2 M1040.1 – for 7063 Hardware or vHMC for PowerVM (5765-HMB)

This package represents an interim fix for HMC V10 R2 M1040 on 7063 machine type or vHMC for PowerVM. You can reference this package by APAR MB04412 and PTF MF71107. This PTF can be installed on HMC V10 R2 M1040.

General fix

Fixed an issue with Performance and Capacity Monitoring (PCM) causing SRC E35A0083 to be reported and called home due to high heap memory usage.

Security fixes

Fixed Apache Tomcat vulnerability: CVE-2023-28709.
Fixed httpd vulnerabilities: CVE-2006-20001, CVE-2022-36760, CVE-2022-37436, and CVE-2023-25690.

Known Issues

The Remove action is missing from the GUI Shared Storage Pool Volumes page.
VIOS scheduled operations are deleted when the HMC is restarted.
Energy Metrics collection is not automatically enabled for Power9 and Power10 High end systems when updated to firmware levels which support Energy Metrics, if Performance and Capacity Monitoring was already enabled for those systems. As a workaround, disable and enable Performance and Capacity Monitoring. If the systems are in Enterprise Pools 2.0, enable only Energy Monitoring via the Rest API (https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/power10/7063-CR2?topic=monitoring-management-console-performance-capacity-preferences)
The hmcshutdown command does not work after restoring Critical Console Data on V10R2M1030. Workaround is to shutdown or reboot HMC via GUI.
