If this PTF is not installed, the HMC saveupgrade or install of V10R2 M1030 will fail while verifying the install images before the installation begins with this error: "/The file disk1.img appeared to be missing, or the transfer did not complete successfully, resulting in an incorrect file size or checksum. Please retry the operation./" * For network installation or upgrade of V10R2 M1030 this pre-requisite is mandatory except in the following cases: o If physical HMC was freshly installed with 950 or 1010 using ISO images. o If virtual HMC was freshly created with 950 or 1010 levels.
