The information in this Readme contains the fix list and other package information about the Hardware Management Console.

Terminology

x86 -  This term is used to reference the Intel hypervisors (KVM, VMWare, Xen) on which Virtual HMC can be installed. Note: HMC V9R2 release for x86 is not supported on bare metal (7042 hardware appliances).

ppc64 or ppc64le - describes the Linux code that is compiled to run on Power-based servers or LPARS (Logical Partitions)

PTF MH01881 - HMC V9 R2 950.4 vHMC for x86_64 hypervisors (5765-HMW)

This package represents an interim fix for the HMC V9 R2 M950 release for x86_64 hypervisors. You can also reference this package by PTF MH01881 and APAR MB04272. This Mandatory PTF should be installed after you upgrade to HMC Version 9 Release 2 M950.

Note: This PTF supersedes MH01871.

PTF MH01882 HMC V9 R2 950.4  - for 7063 Machine Types or vHMC for PowerVM (5765-HMB)

This package represents an interim fix for the HMC V9 R2 M950 release on the 7063 machine type. You can also reference this package by PTF MH01882 and APAR MB04273. This Mandatory PTF should be installed after you upgrade to HMC Version 9 Release 2 M950.

  • Fixed an issue which prevented accessing the HMC remotely after  deleting a network bond interface and the default gateway device is set to "any".
  • Fixed Remote Restart operation failures when invoked from the REST API resulting in error message "raise exception.IBMPowerVMRemoteRestartFailed(error)".
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the user from launching the Hardware Virtualized IO tab for partitions on older POWER7 server models that have HEA but do not support SR-IOV.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the Cloud Management Console from correctly detecting whether Network Time Protocol (NTP) was enabled or disabled on the HMC.
