Terminology

x86 - This term is used to reference the legacy HMC that runs on x86/Intel/AMD hardware for both the 7042 Machine Type appliances and the Virtual HMC that can run on the Intel hypervisors (KVM, VMWare, Xen).

ppc64 or ppc64le - describes the Linux code that is compiled to run on Power-based servers or LPARS (Logical Partitions)

PTF MH01813 - for 7042 Machine Types or vHMC for x86 hypervisors (5765-HMW)

This package represents a fix that can be applied on your HMC V9 R1 image starting from HMC9.1.910.0 till HMC9.1.921.3. You can also reference this package by PTF MH01813 and APAR MB04200. This special fix image can be installed on top of HMC Version 9 Release 1 910.0 (PTF MH01733) with or without any additional PTFs or service packs.

PTF MH01814 - for 7063 Machine Types or vHMC for PowerVM (5765-HMB)

This package represents a fix that can be applied on your HMC V9 R1 image starting from HMC9.1.910.0 till HMC9.1.921.3. You can also reference this package by PTF MH01814 and APAR MB04203. This special fix image can be installed on top of HMC Version 9 Release 1 910.0 (PTF MH01735) with or without any additional PTFs or service packs.

General fix

This PTF changes the file system used to stage HMC updates to another file system with more disk space. This can avoid PTF install failures due to not enough free disk space in root file system and false reports of E212E136 triggered during the PTF install. IBM recommends applying this PTF to HMCs at V9R1M921 iFix MH01808/MH01809 or earlier before installing another service pack or iFix.

Note: This PTF needs to be re-installed if you install any HMC update prior to HMC9.1.930.0 on top of this PTF.
