Attempts to install a virtual HMC appliance on FW930 will result in failure and upgrading to FW930 will cause an existing virtual HMC instance to fail to boot. *SPECIAL NOTE*: To avoid PTF/Service Pack install failures due to not enough free disk space in the root file system and false reports of E212E136, pro-actively install PTF MH01813(x86)/MH01814(ppc) before the fix listed in this readme. PTF MH01813/MH01814 (located under the HMC V9R1M921 tier on FixCentral) must be reinstalled prior to any PTF or Service Pack update of V9R1 until V9R1M930 is installed. With this fix, SRC E332FFFF will be generated one-time to collect the relevant logs for analysis when needed. * Added support for importing VIOS image via NFS using HMC GUI. * Fixed an issue that can cause service event E2FF1800 and E2FF1801. * Fixed an issue where 5250 login panel for IBMi partition displays incorrect characters for zh_TW locale. * Fixed an issue where HMC UI is unable to access some USB flash drives. Each error leaves a core file in /opt/ccfw which may eventually result in full file system resulting in call home SRC E212E136. * Added a fix to allow adding files to VIOS media library that have periods in the file name. * Added a fix to show a warning message when there is a 577D card in slot C4 and concurrently adding an adapter into slot C5 of a 5788 or 5702 IO drawer. * Fixed an issue with the Power Management menu where launching the task may throw an "Error launching task" message on POWER9 servers *Security fixes* * Addressed krb5 vulnerabilities: CVE-2018-5730 and CVE-2018-5729 * Addressed GnuTLS vulnerabilities: CVE-2018-10845 and CVE-2018-10844 * Addressed openssl vulnerabilities: CVE-2018-0732, CVE-2018-0739 and CVE-2017-3735 * Addressed kernel vulnerability: CVE-2018-5391 * Fixed an issue where the certificate used by IBM i 5250 console service (port 2301) is not updated when a new certificate keystore repository is imported by the user. * * *Known Issues* * IE browser does not have default support of Promises. HMC symptoms include: 1. The Status of CEC being Powered On/OFF will not be updated automatically. 2. The Partition Activation status will sometimes fail to update automatically without a manual refresh. * The custom task role "hmcclientliveupdate" includes a sub-set of tasks from per-defined "hmcsuperadmin" task role. The "MigrateLPAR" task as listed in command line, "Migrate Partitions" in GUI, is missing by default in "hmcclientliveupdate" task role. To allow completion of Live Kernel Update (LKU), a HMC super administrator can add any missing required tasks such as "MigrateLPAR" using HMC GUI or command line chaccfg. Another circumvention is the following. 1. If "hmcclientliveupdate" task role is not currently used by any the users on the HMC, delete the "hmcclientliveupdate" task role. 2. Update the HMC with this PTF or service pack. Once the update mandatory reboot completes successfully the "hmcclientliveupdate" will be automatically re-created with "MigarteLPAR" included. *Previously released fixes also included in this PTF: * * MH01804/MH01805* 01/17/19 * Added support to allow administrators to specify the Client Adapter Id while attaching virtual storage using virtual fiber channel in order to allow for their desired mapping rules. Previously, only the next available adapter was possible. * Fixed an issue that prevented users from adding additional VLAN to an existing load group using HMC GUI for systems that are not VSN (Virtual Server Network) capable. * Fixed an issue where the Logical Partition list is missing in the Software Service Information Transmission. This occurs when the HMC is managing multiple systems and a few of the systems do not have any logical partitions. * During Day Light Saving (DST), the timestamp in HMC's Performance and Capacity Monitoring (PCM) dashboard and some of the HMC log files show one hour lag as compared to actual HMC’s system time. Fixed the issue to synchronize the time in application server with the system time when DST change occurs. * Fixed an issue where the user specified a Client adapter Id which was not honored and the SCSI mapping was created with the next available slot instead while associating a Virtual Optical Device to the partition. * MH01800/MH01801* 11/21/18 * Enabled support for concurrent repair of SMP cables for P9 System 9080-M9S * Fixed an issue where applying a HMC update would reset the lpar_rmc_comm_ifs value to default.
