Terminology

x86 - This term is used to reference the legacy HMC that runs on x86/Intel/AMD hardware for both the 7042 Machine Type appliances and the Virtual HMC that can run on the Intel hypervisors (KVM, VMWare, Xen).

ppc64 or ppc64le - describes the Linux code that is compiled to run on Power-based servers or LPARS (Logical Partitions)

PTF MH01776 - for 7042 Machine Type

This package includes fixes for HMC V9 R1.911.0 Service Pack. You can also reference this package by PTF MH01776 and APAR MB04161. This image can be installed on top of HMC Version 9 Release 1 911.0 (PTF MH01762) with or without any additional PTFs.

NOTE: This PTF supersedes MH01780.

This package includes fixes for HMC V9 R1.911.0 Service Pack. You can also reference this package by PTF MH01777 and APAR MB04162. This image can be installed on top of HMC Version 9 Release 1 911.0 (PTF MH01763) with or without any additional PTFs.

NOTE: This PTF supersedes MH01781.

Restore Notes

Prior to restoring a backup console data:

Apply V9R1.910.0 Recovery image + restore iFix (MH01780/MH01781)
or
Apply V9R1.910.0 Recovery image + Service Pack 1 (MH01762/MH01763) + iFix (MH01776/MH0177).

General fixes

Fixed a data replication issue for the LDAP configuration
Fixed an issue that can cause multiple E332FFFF service events and eventually fill the root (/) file system with dumps resulting in E212E136.
Fixed an issue where enhanced UI shows a server attention indicator as off when the physical LED indicator is on.

Security fixes

Provided fix to include whole certificate details including the Root & Intermediate certificates
Fixed a security issue with log files.

Fixed an issue with restoring backup of HMC critical console data. This issue halts the process of restore with following error message at HMC local console:
"A critical error occurred during the recovery of archive data.
The system may be unstable. It is recommended the HMC be re-installed and manually reconfigured.
Failing Component:
TASK_RESTORECCD
Contact your service representative to determine the severity
of this condition if you choose to proceed. Press <Enter> to
continue the boot sequence or press 'R', then <Enter> to
re-install the HMC."
