This package includes fixes for HMC Version 7 Release 7.5.0. You can also reference this package by APAR MB03661. This image must be installed on top of HMC Version 7 Release 7.5.0 Recovery installation (MH01311) or Service Pack 1 (MH01317), with or without efixes.

This package provides the following fixes and improvements:

General fixes

• Fixed issues to prevent IBM.LparCmdRM crashes.
• Fixed issue with missing keyboard mappings for Switzerland/Luxembourg KBID150G.
• Fixed an issue where change network settings incorrectly prompts the user to update the certificate and restart even when no changes that impact the certificate were made.
• Fixed issue with the mkauthkeys command failing for users with a '.' (period) in their user names.
• Fixed an issue with create System Plan failing for systems with certain VirtualSCSI configurations.
• Fixed an issue with the creation of Serviceable Events on the management console \ creating an extraneous iqyymrge.log file.
• Fixed issue with command rnvi failing.
• Fixed issue with Create System Plan not generating the processor pool information for a profile when the processor is uncapped.
• Fixed an issue with the chhmcfs command deleting in progress sysdump files when freeing up disk space.
• Fixed issue with network settings not getting properly restored after backing up using the bkconsdata -x netcfg and then restoring across disaster recovery sites.
• Corrected the descriptions for several PCI cards including feature code 5767, 5735, 5805 (CCIN 574E).
• Fix to allow definition of Kerberos user accounts with a name different from the principal name.
• Fixed an authentication issue with Kerberos caused by decrypt integrity check failures.
• Fixed an issue where changing ethernet settings for duplex/speed via HMC GUI or chhmc CLI does not take affect.
• Fixed memory issues leading to heapdump generation that can occur when the HMC is managing multiple systems and isthe primary management console for one set of systems while also being the secondary management console for another set of systems.
• Fixed an issue where performing a backup critical console data using FTP can result in a timeout error.
• Fixed an issue with HMC not able to provide IPv6 DHCP service.
• Fixed keyboard mapping issues to detect and maintain the correct QUERTY or AZERTY functionality.

• Fixed an issue where using a scheduled operations to back up Critical Console Data to a NFS mount results in an error rc=10.

• Fixed a problem with pegasus server that can cause VMControl operations to fail. Underlying error is "CIM_ERR_FAILED: Failed to load the Provider Manager for interface type "CMPI" from library ".

Repair and Verify

• Made improvements to the MES WCII panels such that the user must make a selection prior to proceeding to completing the procedure.
• Fixed the incorrect handling of "delay" while exchanging BPC to BPC communication cable.
• Fixed an issue where an Add Fru Operation is missing the PCI Card location P1-C5 for certain systems.
• Fixed an issue with performing an R&V exchange of a "DVD DRIVE" FRU on 9117 and 9179 systems.
• Fixed issue with performing an R&V exchange of a "FSP Cable" FRU on 9117 and 9179 systems.
• Fixed issue with performing an R&V remove of a "RAID CARD" FRU on 9117 and 9179 systems.
• Fixed broken link issue seen when user attempts an MES add enclosure on 9117-MMB and 9179-MHB systems.
• Fixed issue with R&V failing when performing a DVD exchange on 9117-MMB, 9117-MMC, and 9117-MMD systems.
• Prevented an issue with R&V on a 5803 IO Drawer with the "exchange" procedure of the "Air Moving Device" halting during deactivation.
• Fixed BPA repair to allow concurrent maintenance of FRUs instead of giving the option to power off with error "BPA HARDWARE INTERFACE COULD NOT BE ESTABLISHED".
• Fixed an issue with code sync failing during FSP cold repair on Redundant FSP systems.

Security

• Fixed issue with LDAP authentication failures due to case sensitivity for user IDs when using the Microsoft Active Directory.

Upgrading or restoring HMC Version 7

Notes:

1. To burn the ISO image to media, you must use DVD-R media
2. The HMC Install Corrective Service task has been modified to allow corrective service installation by using the .iso packaging of the corrective service files that you can download from IBM. There is no requirement to burn CD-R or DVD-R media to use these files to install the corrective service.
   • To install the updates over the network, select the .iso file in the Select Service Package panel of the Install Corrective Service utility.
   • To use USB flash media to install updates, copy the .iso file to the flash media, and then select the file when prompted.
3. The updhmc command line command has also been modified to use the .iso file for installing corrective service updates. To use the command, follow the syntax in this example:
   updhmc -t s -h <myservername> -f </home/updates/corrrective_service.iso> -u <HMC_username> -i

In all cases, the HMC application extracts the files needed to install the corrective service.
